Susan Houston, LCSW, APHSW-c, is a counselor with Bluegrass Care Navigators and facilitates our Significant Loss Grief Group. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Introduction to Screen Printing
Ready to get colorful and creative? Join us at The Doty School on Tuesday, July 22 at 1 PM for a fun, hands-on screen-printing class designed just for beginners!
We'll explore the basics of screen printing — and each participant will create their own print on paper (not canvas) and have several copies of their artwork at to take home.
Class lasts about 2–3 hours
Ages 10 and up welcome! (Children under 12 must have an adult with them to take the class)

Hospice Significant Loss Group
Bluegrass Grief Care is for anyone in the community who has experienced the loss of a loved one. Whether it is anticipatory grief, or learning to cope with a loss, our trained and caring staff is available to help surviving family and friends cope with their grief after the death of their loved one.

Description:
Join us for a fun and beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll learn to create a beautiful 5-inch suncatcher using the Tiffany Foil Method! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the basics of glass cutting, foiling, and soldering, and get comfortable with the tools and techniques needed for stained glass art.
All supplies are provided, so you only need to bring your creativity! By the end of the class, you'll have a completed suncatcher to take home and hang in your window.

Pop-Up Pottery Open Studio
Join us for a cozy pottery-making experience! 🎨
Activities:
Ceramics Painting - several items to choose from;
Clay slab-building - create a folk-art chicken or Autumn/Christmas ornaments;
Clay hand-building - bring your own idea (inspo pictures are great), or we can help!
Materials Provided:
1 lb of KyMudworks Iceman clay for slab and hand building
All pottery tools, brushes, and paint
Special Guest: Local artist, Kirk Banks, will be here to inspire and assist with slab/hand-building creations.
Extras: Feel free to bring a favorite cookie cutter for personalized ornaments, or something pliable to make a design impression on clay.
Cost: $5.00 - $20.00 (depending on activity)

Beginners Woodcarving
Beginner’s woodcarving class with instructor, Bill Caudill. This is an introductory class, no experience needed! We will be creating a small owl out of a piece of basswood. All tools and materials are included. $20.00 per person.

Book Signing
Local author Kristi Dixon will be signing copies of her newly published book, “Once Upon a Tragic Night” about five high school friends who lost their lives in a horrible car accident in Letcher County, Kentucky in 1966.

Haints and Hotdogs
Local artist, and teller of tales, Richard Smith, will be our featured storyteller for Haints and Hotdogs. Tales will come creeping out from every holler around. Stories that will make you afraid to walk outside after dark…see a white dog…hear a bone-chilling scream…these are time proven haint stories passed down through generations. Hotdogs, chips, and a drink will be provided to our guests.

Come by the Doty School for a community health fair. A1C, blood pressure, Hospice, KRADD, Kentucky Homeplace, and ARH. Stop by and see what is available for you and your family.
